Set up alternate data transformation mapping

When importing data from Axiom Management Reporting data tables, you can map specific data in more than one location in the system or remap the data to an alternate location instead of the standard destination. Use the RFSummarizationMap table to map these RFGroups and RFCodes to alternate RFGroups and RFCodes for use elsewhere, which eliminates the need to customize the data summarization utilities. This function also provides the ability to use a different calculation method assignment that differs from the standard setting.

Remapping is performed during implementation and when you create new RFGroups that need alternative mapping. You can update the RFSummarizationMap table during the forecasting process.

NOTE: To eliminate the confusion of having two calculation methods from the same RFCode, the remapping process prevents the original, standard RFCode data from interfacing with associated plan file and recognizes only the remapped RFCode.

1. In the RF Admin task pane under Data Transformation, double-click SummarizationMap.

2. In the Primary RFGroup and Primary RFCode columns, double-click the cells to select the names of the RFGroups and RFCodes that need an alternative mapping.

3. In the Remapped RFGroup and Remapped RFCode columns, double-click the cells to select the new designations. Note that the RFGroup names may not need to be changed.

   

4. To flip any multiplier from positive to negative, change the default of 1 number to -1 in the SignAdjustment column. This action assigns the data values the same sign that is used in Management Reporting.

   For example, you have an expense as a positive value in Management Reporting, but you need to assign the incoming account (rolling up to an RFCode) to a Non Operating RFCode when summarizing data to Rolling Forecasting. You could change the sign value so that the expense is changed to a negative value for the Non Operating section.

5. On the Main ribbon tab, click Save.

When you run the Summarize Actual Data and Summarize Budget Data data transformation processes, they access the data in the RFSummarizationMap table and transform the data as specified.
